Montana Snow Shoot

HELLO everyone!
It’s good to be back online. A terrible mistake happened on Monday and my site and email shut down until this morning! I was in the middle of writing up my blog post when all sorts of crazy started happening, but it’s all good. Im back!

I am beyond excited to show you these images that were taken in Montana over Christmas. Before I headed to Big Sky Country, I received the winter J Crew magazine that completely stopped me in my tracks. I was beyond inspired by the cover and all the lovely images that filled the pages. A vision popped in my mind and I knew exactly what was waiting for me in the Northwest!

My gorgeous sister-in-law [Haley] agreed to model for me as I completely went crazy and shot anything and everything that crossed my mind. We had so much fun together and what I discovered is that I really need to take more time to photograph things that inspire me- that push me further- that release all the creative ideas that I often obsess about. To have a vision and see it all come together- through completion- was so gratifying to me. I would encourage everyone that is reading this right now to really contend for moments like this. Don’t stop at the dreaming of a concept, but follow though and see it to the end. This is what LIFE is about. Your heart will be glad.

This is Haley….and she rocked it.

:: Haley turned the camera around on us and Im thinking that theres another photographer in the family! She amazed me ::

Lola Jane

Nate and Sarah Sallie have the most beautiful family. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph them a few times and I just love our time together. They have an incredible story as well…..a story of HOPE and VICTORY!

After years of trying to conceive for the second time, Sarah had a very traumatic miscarriage. They continued to believe and pray for another little one and a few years later, baby Jack was born. What an awesome miracle, right? Well, God wasn’t done revealing His goodness because soon after Jack was born….and I mean a few months later….Sarah informed me that she was pregnant again! WOW!! There’s nothing more mind blowing than witnessing the unexplainable. Morgyn, Jack and Lola are precious gifts.

It was an honor to photograph miss Lola Jane at just a few days old for Nate and Sarah. What an incredible family and sweet, sweet friends of mine.

For those of you with kids that love music….definitely check out School of Worship. Nate and Sarah opened this school over a year ago and it’s such a neat concept!

….and this was taken for their family Christmas card. This one definitely melts my heart.

This session was for their Christmas card, which turned out oh so cute!

Their adorable little girls, Ellie & Hadley, are just too much fun. It’s been amazing to watch each of them grow from birth and see their personalities develop. Heather and Robert have their own little “mini me.”

Robert and Heather

This post doesn’t even need words.
Robert and Heather nailed it.
They brought WHO THEY ARE, which is why this shoot ended up being so fabulous.

These images are part of their family shoot, which I will post tomorrow [you don't want to miss it- they are CUTE]. I talked Heather and Robert into having their own 10 minute shoot, without the kids….and this is what we ended up with. Amazing, right? Seriously, I think moms and dads need their own photoshoots together too! If I had photos of my parents like this…I would love it!

I never fail to mention to my clients that they have a lot to do with the outcome of our time together. It’s a time to magnify who you really are and just let go and be free. Be free to be YOU! These are my favorite types of sessions. Hands down.

Robert and Heather…. seriously? thank you for making what I already love….even more amazing! I love you guys.
